Congratulations to Nicole Dittbrenner (8th Grade), who was chosen to receive an award as an outstanding eighth grader in Church Music by the Association of Church Musicians in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In addition to singing in the children’s choir for the past six years, Nicole also cantors at Mass on the weekend. We are most proud of Nicole and our choir program. In the past five years, we have had three students who have been honored in this way. Fifth Graders Natalie Gray, Kassidy McVey, and Victoria Tracy-Sykes submitted entries to the Habitat for Humanity Build a House competition. They did a wonderful job and received first place in their respective rounds. Come see their houses, located outside of our school office. Way to go girls!!! Brandy Stewart (5th Grade), won not only the local Bookmark contest, but also the Delaware County competition. She was honored at a ceremony for her creative work. Check out the Aston Library this summer and see her bookmark. Impressive work, Brandy! Congratulations to the following students who were invited to participate in the National Young Scholars Program:
The National Young Scholars Program is designed and created specifically for the nation's most highly acclaimed students in grades two through five. Each student must be personally selected for nomination by a teacher. Only those students who are high achievers, possess a strong academic record and demonstrate strong leadership skills are considered for nomination. We are so proud of these students!
Congratulation to St. Joseph’s Spelling Bee winners: Joselin Covell, our first place winner, who will go on to represent our school on April 21 at St. Pius X School and Daniel Volpe who spelled his way into second place.
Congratulations to Our Math Contest Winners!
