How the Food Certificate
Program Works:

You give us a check
made out to St. Joseph C.P. for any amount you wish to purchase
-
We give you food
certificates for the store of your choice in the same amount
-
Participating stores
accept the certificates as cash.

You spend the
certificates exactly like money (dollar for dollar)
-
St. Joseph earns 2 1/2%
on food certificate purchases and you earn 2 1/2% of your total purchases
-
You can receive your
rebate in one of three ways:
- Receive your rebate
in food certificates to your favorite store
- As tuition credit
(automatically credited to your tuition twice a year (November and March)
- You can donate your
rebate to the Capital Campaign (You will receive a 5% credit on your total
certificate purchase.) This rebate will be reflected on your year-end
contribution statement, which you receive at the end of each year.

Another great program that
we have is the Scrip Program – It is similar to the Food Certificate
Program, but works like this:

First, pick up a Scrip
form in the Rectory (sold at the same time as food certificates) or
click here for form.

Check out all the
retail stores (Sears, Penneys, Toys R Us, etc.), Restaurants (Hennessys,
Olive Garden, Outback, etc), Fast food (Wendy’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut,
etc.) and even gas and phone cards are available for purchase through this
program

Make your choice of the
certificates or debit cards you wish to purchase

Give us a check
made out to St. Joseph Scrip for the total amount
-
We give you
certificates and/or debit cards in the same amount (Spend these dollar for
dollar just like cash)

You also earn rebates
on the Scrip Program – The percentages earned from your purchases of Scrip
differ from store to store. Please check the list of stores available and
their individual rebate percentage. Rebates from the Scrip Program are
return in the same way as Food Certificate Rebates.

Scrip purchases are
non-refundable, so be sure to buy exactly what you will need.
This is a simple method to
support your church on your everyday basic needs. All of us as individuals and
families purchase food and other items at various stores every day. We hope
that more of you will join with those who already purchase certificates and
scrip. Every time you make purchases through these programs the parish receives
income that will help address the financial needs of our church and parish
community. There is no added cost on your part in using food certificates or
scrip. The benefit of your participation is that you, on a regular basis,
will be contributing to your parish and also working towards a rebate for
yourself.
