Bereavement Ministry

St. Joseph’s Bereavement Ministry came together in February 1999 and is committed to reaching out and providing emotional support and encouragement to those who are grieving. We visit personally, share a cup of coffee or a graveside trip, call and send notes of support to those who are mourning. This year, 2012, we invite our bereaved to join us on Sunday, April 29, for lunch and conversation. Later, in November, we'll celebrate a Mass of Remembrance, and offer a Coping with the Holidays program. These events provide opportunity for sharing and fellowship, and the insight of professional grief counselors. Now in our 13th year, we look forward to serving the parish community. If we can be of service, or if you feel called to be a part of this ministry, please stop by our table on Hospitality Sunday, March 25, or call Marge LaRue at 610-485-8213.

Pastoral Council

A council of elected and appointed members act as a consultative body by advising and assisting the pastor in areas of pastoral concern.  It develops parish pastoral plans to recognize and reflect the parish diversity.

PREP Program

From September to May, a Continuous Christian Development program is available to assist parents of public school children in the important task of forming them into committed Catholic Christians.  The sacramental program and all other activities are family focused.  Contact Catherine Maugeri at 610-494-4358 or John Betzal (Jr. & Sr. )

Stewardship Committee

Stewardship is based on the principle that "the parish belongs to its members" and they should be responsible for the quality of Community Life.  A prayerful, Eucharist-centered community with a common vision:  God Is the Source of All.  Its members are committed to furthering the word and work of Christ by caring for each other and all of God's creation.  In gratitude, they joyfully give back a portion of their God-given gifts of time, talent and treasure.

Finance Committee

This group of appointed members of the parish assist Father Vogan with the accounting and finances of the parish operations.

RCIA

This program is for those who have never been baptized, those who were baptized but need Eucharist or Confirmation, and those interested in becoming a Catholic.  The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is open to all and is a process in the Church throughout the world whereby people learn more about the Faith and are welcomed into the Catholic Church.  The group meets once a week from September until Easter.  Contact the rectory if you are interested.

Aid for Friends

Volunteers make meals in their homes and place them in aluminum trays provided by Aid for Friends. The meals are placed in the church freezer for shut-ins in the area. They are delivered by volunteer visitors once a week. The visitors take the meals and also spend some time with the shut-ins. Anyone in the parish can volunteer with Aid for Friends. Shut-ins come from St. Joseph's Church and outside of the church.

Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee members are responsible for organizing the "coffee and donut Sundays" held the fourth Sunday of each month after all Masses.  Contact the rectory for more information.

RCIA Team Member

The RCIA team members under Fr. DiGuglielmo's guidance are responsible for the organization, instruction and coordination of the RCIA program.

Social Service Liaison

The Social Service Liaison connects parishioners - especially the elderly - to the services at the parish as well as those in the Delaware County Area.

Mother Teresa's Legacy
